On June 6, the Opening Ceremony of GMS Economy Corridor Week and GMS High-level Forum on Trade and Logistics Was Held in Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Today, the conferences like GMS Economy Corridor Week, GMS High-level Forum on Trade and Logistics, and Seminar on the Construction of GMS Information Platform for Trade & Investment Facilitation, etc, were held respectively. The officials of GMS member countries as well as representatives of relevant enterprises attended the conferences and conducted constructive discussions and delivered speeches.

The distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony included Mr. Gu Chaoxi, vice-governor of Yunnan Province, Mr. Lu Jianhua, assistant minister of Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Huang Wenyong, chairman of GMS Industry & Commerce Forum, and Jean-Pierre Verviest, representative of Asian Development Bank, etc.

The distinguished participants communicated on quite a few logistics topics between GMS and ASEAN. All of them agreed that the final goal of logistics could only be achieved through forming the unification in terms of standard and document as well as the concept of single window; therefore, a matching action plan is required at national level and at the level of ASEAN.

The representatives of 6 GMS nations' information construction field and ADB representative discussed the construction of GMS information platform for trade & investment facilitation. Mr. Li Jiming, deputy director of Department of Commerce, Yunnan Province, introduced China's achievement in GMS information construction and proposed quite a few constructive cooperation topics, which aroused in depth discussions among the participants.

More activities of GMS Economy Corridor Week will be held successively in next few days, which will promote further construction and prosperity of GMS economy corridor.
